- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆Generally, my experience with State Farm has been reasonably good. I was a customer for auto insurance for more than 20 years, and for homeowner insurance for more than 15 years. However, I have had a very bad experience trying to get a refund for an insurance premium paid on a house I no longer own. After requesting my refund and being told it would take 2-3 weeks to process, I received not a refund but rather a bill, since whoever processed it made a clerical error. I brought this to the attention of this office, and while they were very apologetic, they have still not made good on the refund- even though I was told it was "processed" about two weeks ago, and I have made several phone calls and e-mails. I just feel like they have handled this one situation very unprofessionally. Update: I finally received the check. Even after the first clerical error, they still managed to send it to the wrong address, so that is what caused the delay. Thankfully it was forwarded to our new address.By Matthew Pelletier, May 07, 2017
